thats why you set it to any rounds, same region and from f rank to up to S+I just started playing online, so far I've only had one match with a really, really bad connection, which was hell. I'm playing on wired, and every other matches were pretty smooth. But gosh it takes really long to find anyone in ranked, especially when setting "nearby" and not "any" :/.
Exactly what I did, except I set it to nearby, not same.thats why you set it to any rounds, same region and from f rank to up to S+
Either way, you cannot get good practice online. I was having great difficulty countering on reaction, blocking lows, and punishing attacks that are unsafe. It's almost as if the netcode makes these attacks safe. At first I thought I was just punishing too late due to the lag, but if I tried to throw punish any earlier I would get hit by the attack I was trying to punish.
The netcode is plain fucked up.
I feel bad saying this, but DOA4's online was better.
TN didn't let you test the netcode?I finally played a few matches online last night (PS3). The netcode is absolutely terrible. At best, in a 2-person room (ranked match or simple match), it's about on par with DOA4, which is simply not acceptable. At worst, it's completely unplayable.

Given my lackluster local scene, if the netcode does not improve significantly with the (assumed) upcoming patch, I won't be able to play this game competitively... or at all really.
Id also say that DOA5 runs more heavily on frame rate and actual timing than MK so im guessing it would be easier to make a game like MK work online. Ive also personally had about the same or a slightly better experience with DOA5. That being said hopefully a patch is released soon that improves the way DOA5 plays online because as ive mentioned theres no excuse when games like VF5FS play so smooth.I'd argue MK9 has better netcode too, and up until this point, MK9 had the worst netcode I'd ever seen. You can get away with so much nonsense it's ridiculous. I never, ever, cried about the online play in DOA4, in fact I was very pro-online scene, however in DOA5 almost every online-match makes me want to flip a table.
Of course not if he gave a bad impression of the netcode then that wouldve possibly hurt sales for the game. Also this is the job of reviewers in my opinion but for some reason one of the aspects that big media reviewers can touch upon almost always gets over looked. I dont care for fighting game reviews but damn they could give us some insight about how the games play online.TN didn't let you test the netcode?
But if it's this bad. TN should try to cover things like this.Of course not if he gave a bad impression of the netcode then that wouldve possibly hurt sales for the game. Yes they should its there asses on the line its not like TN is activision or EA sports they dont have the same funds other developers have. Also as i mentioned if a patch is a released and online play is still isnt where it should be then the complaints are even more so valid. You also have to remember maybe TN needs some of the money made back by the sales from the game before they can start making improvements. But if it's this bad. TN should try to cover things like this.
