Is Ayane the "Ken" of this game, or what?

Well the Ninjas in this game are like the Shoto or the Mishimas. But yeah, now, Ayane is even more popular than Kasumi, the poster girl.
Then you have Hitomi, Jann Lee.. and now probably Rig (and Mila?).

The back turned/spinnning of Ayane actually did get me interested at first. But this is DOA3 when I was like 10 and had no idea what made a character good or not...

I dont know ive personally run into more kasumi's and id rather personally keep it that way i cant stand playing against ayane.
Yeah I mostly run into Ayane too and find it annoying due to the lag. I still think fighting Hayate and Ayane is the worse.

Pretty much this, the creepy thing is that every ninja plays almost exactly the same copy play style of each player completely. I mean Jann-Lee and Hitomi players don't do that, from F to A all that's different is the reaction to guarding who's prone to more hold spamming. Completely opposite to watching Tina,Helena, Bayman plays no matter the player's skill.

That frustration when you lose against an unskilled ninja/Hitomi/Jann Lee/Rig because of the lag.
There's a lot of people that always would pick Ayane. Like any characters, the number of people who actually know how to play her right is few and far between.
At lower levels of play, a lot of people play the same, because they don't really know what to do yet. With experience, one gains an actual unique playstyle. This goes for any character.

I completely disagree with OP. Ayane ain't even that good in this game compared to other games, and she ain't that popular for some reason. Besides, in my experience people play other characters more and probably with this edition of DOA, this has been the best spread of characters choices from players besides the general ninja barrage. This isn't like the days of DOA4 scrub nusas, 9frame kasumis, 3f+k hayates and 4p doau ayanes(not that I was against that).
I'd say Jann Lee is picked more than usual. Tina has more love. Busa and Hayate and gone down. Brad has gone up. Lisa has gone up.

Well her fighting style was one of the reasons why I picked her years ago. It's awesome and you have to love (or hate) it.
You mean like his 9H+K string?(assuming that's still the command).

Ayane is really good this time around. She got better....So is actually getting nerfed because of it though. Ayane isn't Ken though. She lacks a fireball.

I meant she's Ken in that she's the one everybody flocks to because she's simple and easy to use right off the bat, plus everyone usually just spams one move (Spinning/shoryuken)

Lol I know. I was joking. and I don't think she is that easy to use. They're just mashing. Ayane takes a lot of skill to use if you ask me. The only ninja that takes skill to use.
