DOA5+ for PS Vita

couldn't agree more.

imo, DOAX etc took an incalculably big bite out of the franchises future credibility -

The funny thing is that they said that the wanted to be more serious with DOA5 and at the end they did exactly the same as before, I agree that the DOA girls are one of the key points of the franchise but there is a way to make them look sexy and eye candy and not to fall into vulgarity. I guess those extra sales they get for showing skin and big tits are worth for them.

Yes, but in an interview Shimbori said that their original plan was effectively changed according to the feedback received just after the alpha demo version. After the NG3's insuccess, hearing their requests Team Ninja looked for giving a product that could surely appeal casual and hardcore players, and the sexy factor of the girls was something that the fans still wanted to find in the game. What it was done is not so different from the recent patch about the gameplay with changes heavily requested by the fans (one for all Hayate's character, that the same Shimbori thought not needed of any change before the out of the game contrarily to the players' opinion).
Maybe if Doa5 was out before NG3, currently the situations of the 2 games would be the opposite, with a Doa5 remake requested by the people after a flop, and NG3 able to be satisfactory for the fans since its first version.

Anyway I think that Doax2 could have its faults for the franchising image, but not Doaxbv: that game was thought effectively for the casual fans of the series and not just like an ecchi game. Probably it needed of more features to not be considered just like a relax game (things added in the sequel but mostly in a wrong way), but in general the game was well done, not oversexualized, with a good gameplay.

Like always just my 2 cents.

OK, seriously... some of you guys need to ease up. It's just a promotion of the bonus gravure video that comes with the collector's edition. When the only other incentive to buy the Vita version is basically to get a game that will be near-identical to the updated version of its big brother counterparts with a possibly trivial first-person feature and BGM customization, there's only so much you can do with that alone.

It was inevitable. Sex appeal had to eventually play its hand, as it has always been Team Ninja's forte for instantaneous appeal to most. And besides, it's a dad-gummed portable for cryin' out loud. Not a lot of people have broken out of the "portable fighting games can't be taken seriously" mold anyways. So honestly, I can't understand half the bitter hostility going on here over promoting a simple 30-second ad over a legit Vita-exclusive collector's bonus. smdgh

I'm personally stoked for this bonus gravure video that'll be packed with the collector's edition. Should be a nice change of pace to see these beautiful, newly designed girls of DOA sittin' pretty in tropical weather. Maybe VF fans will also get their share of actual fanservice as well... who knows?

But most importantly, I'll have another way to JAK-off to Christie, and on the go, no less. May need a restroom though...

I think Team Ninja probably feels a kind of parental responsibility to meet the needs of a certain niche group of lonely gamers who may not actually be capable of getting real girlfriends and copulating.

And honestly I have no real problem with that right up until they start bothering me.

I just care about the fighting, yo.

Hey man, this is revolutionary gameplay right here. Here, the player must use their fight stick to empty their 'frustration bar' by doing the correct motions to achieve success. It's so realistic, you can FEEL IT! Your life bar is inside you.

No lose condition, no timer, no buttons; just you, your fight stick and your opponent. Fight again and again to improve on your previous record. GO FOR BROKE!

I dont like how they promote the game but lets be serious not this or doax are the reasons this isnt at evo, and not respected by other communities... The way the game plays is the only reason... If its was the fighting game most of us wanted doax or no doax swimsuits or not wouldnt change the fact that it would be a solid fighting game... I ve said it many times if you look at most other fighters they are all oversexualised (some much more than doa) its the core mechanics of the game that hold it back and everything else are excuses...

I wonder how different things would've been if TN had stuck to releasing the game in December (or whatever targeted time frame in the winter) as they originally planned rather than the fall season...

Oh well, what's done is done. At least when compared to SF x Tekken, we don't have to put up with over a year of supposed balancing issues, much less issues with the online/offline features. Best we count our blessings, move forward, and support where we can when we can. I didn't get everything I wanted myself, but for the most part, I'm glad I won't have to slash my wrists over being unable to join friend lobbies 90% of the time for very long.

Other fighting games being oversexualized than DOA? That would be Soul Calibur and Mortal Kombat 9 my friend lol.

Every single fighting game sells games by advertising sexy girls. Not just DoA. Get over it. We can all go home.

God, the Tekken girls look so pathetic trying to be sexy lol.

Wit those big ass man shoulders haw haw.
To be fair, Zafina gives me a boner, and characters like Lili, Asuka, and Xiaoyu are aimed squarely at prepubescent young males. The rest of the cast lies somewhere in-between. That said, tastes will vary.

Alisa was aimed squarely at the Japanese male audience in particular, and thanks to the fridge-humping madness that is Blood Vengeance, well... you know the rest.

But I do see your point. They will have to do better than that with their character models. Mind you, this is coming from someone who has taken YEARS to open his mind to the Tekken franchise after neglecting it for so long.

I will add that Zafina is beautiful enough to be in DOA (and especially with the fabulous voice of Lisle Wilkerson, who also does Nina and Sarah incidentally). Love her fighting style, hate tekken mechanics unfortunately :(

IMO I love DOA, VF and Tekken mechanics but I personally hate Soul Calibur.

I love all of those, including Soul Calibur. SCV was a downgrade IMO since they removed Repels and Parries. The game deserves the name Soul Blockibur V.

Look at those graphics o_O....if DOA5+ end up looking almost as good as the console version I would dress like a ninja, dragon kick people in the face if they said DOA5 is trash and do backflips off houses and scream, "I'm a fightier!!!!!" lol
