Problems that the Patch DOESN'T Address

The patch has created a problem in that it's turned quite a few people into a "bitch". Essentially people who get twirked by you or don't wanna lose to u regardless of the fact u have a 4bar/5bar connection will deny you and pick and choose who they fight. The funny thing is their are quite a few on this actual website that do it but i'll refrain from "naming people" as the list is both shocking and long. Most of it comes from S players and up.

It should revert back to being able to see connection only because right now it's turned ranked into the home of the bitch made.

Throw breaks doesn't mean throws get taken out of the game. And its been discussed that if DOA had throw breaks, you would make them unbreakable at a certain disadvantage, or more clearly, while recovering from a hold, to preserve their anti-hold powers.

After all, we already have throw breaks for neutral throws - it should work for all throws at neutral. Just add left and right command throw break like VF.

Once again, DOA implementation would involve throws becoming unbreakable when punishing holds or long disadvantage.

As for what the new patch is missing for me, is scaling up punishment in the stun system for people in holds to be closer to max launch threshhold quicker if you miss a hold, and sidestep tracking still doesn't seem on the money. I'd like to have crouch dash cancelling out of Sidestep.

i kinda want everyone to have SST (doesnt mean everyone has a SSOH) so if you SS the last attack of a string you can do a throw.

There is some major glitch with lobbies and the hosts. I was playing with a friend and we had both decided to exit the lobby and try some ranked. He left and I was ending my fight in the lobby. Just then as he entered ranked he was put into the lobby and set as the next fighter against me. Then it started notifying us that people were joining the room... people that were not really there but from ranked fights we had. It kept going and was lagging the lobby terribly. Kept saying the same people were entering and leaving. When the fight ended my console froze forcing a hard restart.

The only form of guaranteed punishment in this game and you want it taken out? I'm getting mixed signals from you Rikuto.

So you create better strike punishment.

And you're not getting mixed signals, you're just recognizing a more-or-less irrelevant part of the equation as being equally important. Who cares anyway? Punishment is ghetto in DOA 5. If throw punishment was really that important you could simply make it so anytime a person is thrown at disadvantage it is unbreakable. The same goes for high-counter throws.

Or not. I really wouldn't care, because throw punishment does jack shit and will continue to do jack shit compared to everything else.

The neutral game is the only part that is relevant.

lol That was me entering and leaving and yes I was trying to do ranked. Just prior to that some asshole disconnected on me, so that may be what's causing the glitch.

Anyway patch is a couple days away and no word on those "details" so I'm guessing there actually isn't much changed aside from the bug fix.

That would make punishing unsafe strikes with throw interesting.

That would make the game better. TN is clearly not interested in that. 6 months beta testing and they are STILL fucking up.

I still accept your fights, even though I never win. :D
Though I honestly rarely try ranked anymore. I keep waiting 20 minutes only to get paired with "ImaFighter91" who declines the fight over and over again. I've better things to do with my time.

As far as the throw punishment thing goes, I don't like the idea of any more throw escapes at all. I feel like if I can get the opponent to stop crouching/attacking/throwing for 12 frames frames when I'm in their face, they don't deserve to wiggle out of that.

As far as I know, hard knock-downs still guarantee a ground throw. Which ones have changed?

You want to get that big damage after out-smarting your opponent? Okay, we're adding this new "critical burst" mechanic that will let you get that big damage after two, maybe three, good hits. NOT IN THE FINAL BIOTCH
Certain environmental juggles and and strings can ensure 90% health wipe-out and are unbreakable. Certain Hi Counter throws can also dish out massive damage. Big damage for out-smarting your opponent is in there when you look for it.

You're being a little unfair. Team Ninja is listening, but they're compromising a lot too.It's better than DOA4, but not as good as DOA3. Almost every change falls under this category.

Grapplers still have guaranteed ground throws, much more than DOA4 offered.

What guard break lost advantage? A lot of the changes to GBs have made them more safer if anything via patch. Much better than DOA4.
