I know the patch isn't even a day old for the PS3, or even out for the 360, but I know I'm not the only one thinking this so I decided to make the thread and poll early.

What are you thoughts?

I think it would discourage more people from playing.

I know I only know one character and I'm sure there's others like me who either only know one character or feel they kan only get far with one.

But now you got someone who's got that character's back!

It also helps with match-up decisions.

Lets put it this way learn to tag or gtfo, not trying to be rude but if you don't take this opportunity now to at least try it,TN will likley take this as a sign of the wrong direction.i don't think you guys realize this, but after seeing a vid like that or even getting stuck in a combo that bad it's gonna scare off casuals big time from tag i mean seriously there is the potential for one combo kills right now.its going to be up to the compeditives to at the very least show TN that this(high damage) IS the way to go,even if it's not exactly where you want to be.

IMO the damage is way to high you can do with some of the tag combos. +250 damage without a wall on HCH. And in tag team it's quite hard not to hit a wall. I mean, that's basically a guaranteed instant K.O.

I'm not particularly a big fan of team fighting games, I think there's way too many of those out these days. Some games that are 1 on 1 fighters may just throw in tag team play as an afterthought, like MK9, but it is never used in competitive play from what I've seen.

Sorry but what should say the people that used like main chara Ein, Leon or Tengu? I don't think that it will be so hard to use another character, in addition this can mean just more versatility in the fight 1 vs 1 with the possibility to choose a different character.

Personally I love the Tag battle and my team was composed by Ayane and Ein. Now that I don't have more my second choice I didn't decline to play the mode, but simply I was looking for learning the moveset of another character.

I agree, I hope that this will not lead to "the first that attacks wins".

No reason we can't use both version. But yeah, I'm all for tag taking the center stage.

Keep in mind that the combos in the following video are of a game with a 240pt life bar.

You have a regenerating life bar for that second player and you aren't able to do insta-kills off of it due to the revision reductions on each tag.

Tag has always been this way.

Before, people were complaining there weren't any combos or guaranteed damage or punishment.
Then, they are given a mode to get combos, guaranteed damgage, and punishment.
Now, they say they don't want the combos, guaranteed damage, or punishment.

As for it being the standard. Honestly, too easy to say. It's up to the ones who show up to tournaments.
But personally, I'll be restarting a tag side tourney at my events to see how people like it and if it grows.

People, overall on the web, are exactly so Mr.Wah, there is nothing to do for it XD

Anyway a real match is not so simple like this video of demonstration, like all the things is wrong to judge it before the time and to play effectively the mode.

I mean I don't have an issue w/ the damage because health regenerates at a fairly generous rate.

Look, I've only played tag maybe once or twice in DOA5, so I'm by no means any good at (hell, I'm barely decent in 1v1). And if TN isn't willing to change 1v1 to have more guaranteed damage, but have given us what we want in tag...I'm willing the pay the price of learning another character if it means more guaranteed damage.

Awesmic already said it, tag should be a tournament standard "for tag". If we're to have tournaments for tag, just do one for both Singles and Tag. Hasn't this already been done at a few events anyway?

You can still run a 1v1 tag tournament. There can always be a tournament for Singles (like it's suppose to be) and tag 1v1 tag tournaments can be a new addition to events. It definitely shouldn't replace anything. Just have both.

Besides, playing tag is playing a totally different game.
