Mr wah wrote earlier in this thread that a sidestep is 20 frames plus another 5 of recovery, a total of 25 frames. So what you're saying is that once you start a sidestep you can perform another after 12-13 frames but you can only attack after the entire 25 frames have finished? So once you start a sidestep there's no way of interrupting or stopping it until it's finished, unless you do another sidestep?
I may have been a little unclear in my previous post sorry for that. But what i was trying to tell you is that from a little experiment that i did. It seemed to me that while sidestepping one can choose to perform the side step move by pressing either p or k after something about 13 frames in to the side step or later. However if you choose to do another kind of attack then you have to wait during the side step and its recovery so that would be 25 frames. There is no cancelling the side step once you have started it so the only options you have once you decided to a side step would be:
1. Do the side step attack by pressing p or k, this is the fastest move
2. Defend or do another attack after the side step and the amount of frames it takes you to recover which would be 25 frames.
You can actually do this experiment your self in the following manner:
1. Put the training dummy in to a stun and write down the amount of + frames that you get.
2. Then do the same thing again but this time as soon as you have put the dummy in to a stun perform the side step and write down again the amount of + frames .
Then subtract the amount of + frames from step 2 from the amount of + frames from step one and that will give you the amount of frames that it took you to do the side step or whatever you where doing during the stun of the dummy.
