    It lags because upload speeds are being bottlenecked. I'm mostly just messing with shadow, but the reality is, even though I have wideband with good download speeds, the uploads is still too slow, thus the bottleneck. If I had FIOS the lag would be much less but bottlenecking would still occur on his end as his speeds wouldn't be able to keep up.

    This is why central servers like SCV's where it syncs the two connections works so well. In theory rollbacks work in a similar way, but personally I don't care for rollbacks.

    While lag may slow down in DoA, rollbacks will show completely different situations between the two users thus the whole "I got hit during a hit confirm but in reality I never did a hitconfirm because the system did a rollback to resync the connection." They all have flaws though, it's just p2p networking is much more noticeable.
