Not necessarily, but DOAXBV definitely did no favours to DOA's reputation. DOA's always been a stigmatized franchise from the start. However, I find it odd that DOA3 sold over 1.5 Million units whereas every other DOA game after it (including DOAXBV) sold less than 400,000 units. DOA3 was probably the closest to a DOA game being taken 'seriously' (apart from maybe DOA5LR to an extent).
