Nioh did considerably successfully for KT. NG3 did terribly. So Nioh gets priority over NG unfortunately. But yeah a NG4 is sorely desired now.

But Nioh came last year, it doesn't need a sequel, and the fact that is just a teaser, means the game won't be done until 2020, which means that Ninja Gaiden 4 won't be even a possibility until at least 2022. Nioh is good, but is not Ninja Gaiden levels of good

I wish i could be happy with this announcement, but i am not, unless NiOH 2 for some reason drops the diablo loot system and revamps the entire leveling system where the action mechanics will matter more than status.

Ninja Gaiden 2 has a metacritic rating of 81%. NG3 has 58%. Nioh has 88% on metacritic. I'd say Nioh is on Ninja Gaiden's level though I personally prefer NG. NG2 & NG3 were mediocre in comparison and considerably off from Ninja Gaiden on Xbox in terms of overall quality.

Furthermore I would not want a poorly produced Ninja Gaiden either. NG2 and especially NG3 tarnished the series reputation from NG/Black/Sigma on the OG Xbox.

I mean in combat mechanics, there is no series that does combat like ninja Gaiden, Nioh is good, but is another (not as good) system completely. You don't have the systems, the level of interaction, enemies putting you on edge....

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, while flawed, showed the combat potential that Yasuda could bring to a NG game, and i want to see that fully realized. I understand that Nioh is the critically acclaimed game, and it is logical to make a sequel of that one, but the game came last year. they could have waited a little longer.

Ninja Gaiden is a dedicated hack & slack yes. I wouldn't really say that the combat mechanics are better. Nioh's combat works very well for what it is in terms of having a realistic feel to the weapons and movements. However, Ninja Gaiden's moveset is miles deeper in comparison. The enemy AI is good in both series (which is a weakness in almost every other hack & slack series).
