Fag and nigger and all that good stuff should be used more often so that the word loses it’s shock value and then people can finally stop worrying about their feelings being hurt by mean words lmao
Tokkosho
Tokkosho
Shock value is an ignorant misinterpretation on what makes words harmful lmao but go off

doesn’t mean that the word nigga isn’t a double standard. I mean if y’all wanna keep using that word then, work sis. But, don’t associate me with it, because I will not talk to you, at all.

Bc it's not a word for non-black ppl to claim or use and never will be. Black ppl using the n-word is a way of taking back something used against them. It's the same principal for ppl who aren't lgbt+ using the word queer/fag/etc... If your friends dont mind, then fine, but dont expect the same treatment from others as they(your friends) do not speak for the communities as a whole.
Crazy_Chin_Guy
Crazy_Chin_Guy
@PhoenixVFIRE Only black can use the n-word is racist towards other ethnicities. This is how discrimination and racism comes into play. Being part of a community or any other kind of culture is fine and all but it doesn’t give you the right to use words that other people apparently can’t.

^ exactly. Being able to use a word simply because of the amount of pigment in your skin is quite sad. People need to get over the slavery that happened 200 years ago. People nowadays act like they personally been through slavery because they’ve been discriminated.
Bacaww

The word has had quite the history, simply saying people need to get over that is impossible. Even tho slavery was 200 years ago there are still a lot of black people today whose ancestors were slaves and that history will pass down to the next generation. I do understand where youre coming from though

My ancestors were slaves as well. Slavery should always be remembered. It should teach people how to be better people instead of trying to make white people feel guilty for something their ancestors did. I understand where you’re coming from as well but in the end we need to move past it, it’s already 200 years later.

Slavery may have happened a long while back, but the after effects and racism are as prominent as ever, and thus, non-blacks do not have the right to use the word. Or should I say, go ahead and use it. Freedom of speech, but not freedom from catching these hands lol...

Language is a means to an end it’s the intention that can be racist not the words.
PhoenixVFIRE

A better question is why are non=blacks obsessed with wanting to use the n-word lol... just use another word, got a whole language with a slew of other words to choose from.
Onryoki

So just because you’re being discriminated against gives you the right to use a certain word? Non-black people aren’t “obsessed” with it. Most non-black people wonder why they can’t use that word simply because of their skin color. If non-black people use the n word in the same context as a black person they immediately get called a racist. But when a black people use that word no one bats an eye.

Sigh USA really is a country full with double standards... Like, you guys support “freedom of speech” but as soon as somebody uses a word that you guys don’t like it’s suddenly a problem. There’s a clear difference between being racist and using the n word. It’s all about the context where in that word is used, I don’t get why black people are so obsessed with the word, they’re the ones using it a lot.
PhoenixVFIRE

Clearly ppl Are obsessed with wanting to use it if this question is still being brought up even tho it's been explained over and over why they dont want ppl to use it. im not black fyi, im half white/pakistani, im just explaining why they dont want non-blacks using the N-word bc it's their word to reclaim not anyone elses and it's been used to systematically oppress them in society for the last 400 years globally.
PhoenixVFIRE

Also, ppl usually ask this question thinking all racist terms are equal when they're not. Cracker and N-word aren't the same and never will be, cracker doesn't hold any weight. Me calling a white person a cracker doesn't change their life the same way a black person being called the n-word does.
PhoenixVFIRE
PhoenixVFIRE
The n-word coming from non-black reinforces so many centuries of disgusting oppression against them. It's not a double standard, double standard would imply both sides of the equation are equal, they're not.

Just to clarify, I'm not mad or arguing, just explaining why. There's no hard feelings in these messages in case it might seem like I'm coming off that way, it's not intentional.
