Also I favor counter attack and defensive playstyles and I'm unsure if Akira fits that.

I think he does... atleast SlyBass plays him that way... more or less... plus he can give your Hitbox a real work out... give him a try... if only to make people rage quit with his insane knockback.

It is easier in DoA but still a pain in the ass getting it to work consistently.

Ironically enough I think his GBOD isn't so unattainable.
