I think the visual design with Gears of War with all the grayish brown color filter was kinda intentional because almost every military shooting games have that grayish brown color ambiance like COD, Battlefield, etc.

Even though I don't like Gears of War's visual design, its gameplay is amazing. One of the best I've played. It makes other third-person shooters play like crap.

You could also try Vanquish (Platinum Games)...

Some people say its better than Gear.

I don't agree but I learned alot while playing it.

Use what DOA taught you in them dreams.. when it goes high you go low... or sidestep.. or high crush.. counter. Whatever is acceptable.

Oh yeah, I heard about that one. I'm not sure I could like it because it looks kinda limited when it comes to mobility apart from the slide mechanic. One of the main reasons why I like Gears because of its high mobility, especially when it comes to moving around corners and mini-walls.

@Lulu By the way, does Vanquish have multiplayer? Since I play shooters mostly for multiplayer, if it has, I might try it out.

Vanquish doesn't have multiplayer, but the thing about Vanquish is that its focus is more on optimizing your meter the most, as its what allows you to boost/enter bullet time. And since it's a score based game (which will eventually punish you for using too much cover), movement is key.
