Maybe that would have been the case back in 2012. After GamerGate happened, we just can't catch a break. Either a game is too sexist or too SJWish and twitter will never stfu. I'm not against complaining or criticizing but you know what I'm talking about, here.

Well with this whole DOA6 debacle, we've finally discovered that the gaming community played fighting games for the tits & ass after all. It just took a massively misunderstood and misrepresented comment by a non-English speaking Shimbori to get people to come out of the closet.

People just don't want fanservice to be toned down, since we live in an environment where you have multiple options compare to past year of gaming. Just having good gameplay isn't enough, if there is a certain element they don't like (even if it has no effect to gameplay) they can just abandon that game in favor of the one that does everything right in their book.

It is really good that you said "in their book" @Kasumi-Phase-X. Some of these people that we're talking about venerate Soul Calibur 6 as if the game is their saviour and the entire FGC's saviour because of said fanservice, the same people that might not have even played any of the soul calibur games. Fanservice is there in many fighting games, I do know that (looking at you Chun-Li and Cammy), but still, they

aren't the ones making the game, and as such, they should at least accept the decisions of the developers/producers regarding changes to the new game.

@Kasumi-Phase-X You keep saying the fan service gets toned down when that’s not the case. Just because the jiggle physics become more realistic instead of the insane jiggle physics that we have in LR doesn’t mean that there won’t be any fanservice in DOA. DOA will have fan service and we will get revealing costumes.

The people that say they'll play SCVI over DOA6 likely won't be able to play either game worth a shit and will just create idiotic-looking customizations in the Create-A-Soul Mode.

@ChaolanLegacy Its what happens when SCVI has something they want while DOA6 (while incomplete) is taking a different direction than what they prefer (which isn't likely to last forever). Videogames are a consumer based mentality, if companies making decisions fellow gamers don't like and have to accept it, the wallet is what going to hurt companies the most.

@Onryoki Reason I mention "fanservice gets toned down" is why people are not happy or direction. The jiggle physics are the only thing that was toned down so far (despite we have options to pick our physics), plus DOA6 DLC might be a chance to express what people want for content. Even if DOA6 will have content, I'm looking for videos & pictures.

If there's any positive revelation to the DOA6 "backlash", it's that a lot more gamers care about jerking off to fighting game titties than I thought. Who cares about gameplay amrite? It's like Team Ninja underestimated how stupid some people can be.
