Maricon is derived from purse (The mexican slang for it I believe), and the male prefix for a person. Maricon is dergatory for a purse wearer or (I'm sorry btw) a homosexual. It's more inclined with faggot (US). When talking about someone being scared or hesitant, we say, "Pendejo" which means loosely, dickhead. However, is used in place of, "Punk", or in this case, "Pussy". We say tota or crica for pussy.

However, I'll have you know the words, "Maricon" and Puto are used differently all the time and not in a way to be prejudice. Kinda like how the N-Word has changed over time. However, anyone who lived through the civil rights era, I wouldn't try to call them, "My nigga"

That was a funny article hahah. I normally don’t take offence to the word faggot, but when the straights use it I can be a little iffy about it. That’s because I’m never sure in what context the straights mean it. Also my status was a reference to Dora the adult series on YouTube but she used the term Coño.

The N-word is just a stupid word, I don’t see how people gain empowerment from it. Nor don’t I understand why only people that are black can use the word, I don’t think the amount of pigment in your skin should determine your vocabulary. The word has a nasty history and shouldn’t be used at all.

Yeah that is how blacks feel about the N-word when a white person says. Eminem got his card for living through the struggles of the ghetto the same way they were. In a sense I am in the same boat living in the bx. It's just the context. To call someone your nigga is to acknowledge a connection deeper than friend or even best friend. They are meant to be a mirror you look into, remind yourself we're the same.

It's not about the empowering part as it is realizing that word is never going away from its original intent. In the same way perhaps it's pointless for germany to try and erase what Hitler did by removing swatztikas. That image is a good example of a innocent symbol turned evil. I believe blacks in the US want to see a similar change but done positively. It's easier for people to see the negatives though...

True. But if someone calls me the N-word, I do feel offended and uncomfortable.
