Nothing wrong with being mid tier. And if Marie was mid tier, there would be nothing wrong with being Marie.

She got second place at a major DOA6WC event including a big bracket reset and came incredibly close to winning it all. She can't be that bad. Likely somewhere around mid tier.

If the implication is that DOA tournament results are largely dictated by character tiers rather than being primarily dependent on player skill, I'd like to raise a glass of "No," followed by "Stop it," and "Get some help."

Not quite sure why anyone still base tier lists off tournament results lol, not even SF/KOF/Tekken does that. There are players that swap characters in grand finals despite not going through an entire tournament with X/Y character and then it becomes the magic topic of "So X/Y is really good actually!"

I also don't believe Marie Rose to be absurdly low either, but the player did pretty well. Anything can happen at a tournament outside of tier lists. Skill gap, player/opponent under/not under pressure, knowing the match up.

I honestly don’t think tier lists should even exist. It’s just some characters can do things that other characters can’t. Even characters that people think are “low tier” have really good potential if people took the time to lab with them. It’s just a matter of preference and perspectives.
