They just scuured cause it's a hitbox with 2 extra buttons, and while that gives him access to options stick players can only dream of, the stuff you can do on the gafro hitbox is no different from the stuff you can do on a standard ps4 pad, but u don't see them banning pads at tournament (even though I pretty sure pad was banned in the early mvc2 days)
@Camel with 2 thumbs I know you can set RS to LS for movement but I don't think it's the same as it registers the last input. He can charge off strict timings and block while moving forward option select. I don't think pad does that, homie. It reads inputs completely differently. You can't input shit simultaneously and have it register simultaneously. Correct me if I'm wrong.
for pad you can use the D pad and the LS simultaneously for super fast charge moves, only thing is you have to use the stick first, if you use the D pad first and then try to incorporate stick you get no extra inputs. But the grip necessary to do is so unconventional i doubt any serious player would try to use in tournament, but you never know.
hell we got people out there using pianos and steering wheel controllers in tournament, so never say never lol, the Dpad LS warrior could be right around the corner and BAM, when he does too well with unconventional equipment, BAM no more pad at SF tournaments, stick only
@Camel with 2 thumbs Apparently NuckleDu does this but I'm literally sitting here thinking that Daigo's has something more special for them to have ban it though.
You would think so but no, it is that simple. The thing is hitboxes approved for tournament have special technology that prevents inputs from opposite directions registering (i.e if you hold left and then press right, you get no inputs), the gafro box that daigo uses still has this tech but instead of making simultaneous left right register as neutral, this tech simply registers the last input
