You need to buy your own suit, I think it’s important to listen to both the defendant and the prosecutors. Most people that end up there have bad luck in life. It depends on what the case is, really.

Oh, ok. Just wondering. I got something to wear then. It just read, "We'll provide to your needs." So, that was my first wondering. If it ain't nothing too serious, I'd hope it will go smooth.

Do you HAVE to go?? And how early would you have to start getting JD requests in the mail??>.> and good luck to you while you're there

Making me picture a mobster trying to bribe me like, "We can count on ya vote, right?" "Uh...Yeah, certo. Did he at least had it coming to 'em?" "Yeah, yeah...sure..."

@KasumiLover It's a summons from my government. I can face $1000 fine or imprisonment. There's a process that makes it so you're eligible. Don't know if my mood disorder could automatically disqualify me. I do want the money though. They say $40 a day. Those cases could drag on for years.

Ohhh I see, well as long as money is involved I suppose it's a good thing, and hopefully that wouldn't disqualify you although I don't think it'll be a factor since I assume you still think rationally even suffering from disorders like that

@KasumiLover Yeah, unfortunately you have to go. Jury duty is extremely boring at times depending on what the case is. You can postpone jury duty if you are a student, work overseas, military callings, or work at a city-state job such as a doctor in a hospital. You can postpone it for the first two years, but then after those two years is up they'll call or send you mail and you then have to go.

As for the process of them picking you. You'd have to be a citizen and live in your city for a year. Your name is chosen random by ballot, forms are sent and then decide a case for you or whatever it may be. That's up to them.

Sometimes the case could last for a few days, a set of week, or a few months (most of them don't even pay!) but you have to be a legal citizen or from birth to be called in anyway. I remember having one where it was only for 4 days, but the waiting areas to get called in with a number ballot is the most boring shit in existence (most of my issues is that I can't sit in one place for too long so maybe that's why).

I'm not expecting criminal cases. Perhaps a civil one. Who knows? Maybe it ends up being spicy like the movies.

Those wood benches hurt after awhile, I know because I've sat in em. So how long your case lasted bomba?
DestructionBomb

Thank the world the last 3 Jury duties I had were general civil cases, some criminal cases can last for weeks I heard. @Hold_Junkie93, the longest I ever had was one straight week, but I was compensated for it and even received metro cards to go+come back in transportation.

Also some cases you don't get payed (only got payed twice). If I had jury duty for a set of weeks shit I hope I get payed lol.

I've been summoned twice and got out of it both times. First time military took priority. Second time when they have that little pre-meeting a few days before court sessions I basically told them I'm not capable of being impartial because I had no interest in being there and would ignore everything and just vote whichever way was fastest to end it. So ya they dismissed me and found someone else.

I have no interest in losing time off work to sit in a court room and not get paid. Plus they knew I have PTSD and still sent me a summons. Screw them lol.

@Raansu Good call. Keep trying your best to not be there because woo boy it's boring on the waiting. If you ever encountered someone that says Jury duty is fun, they are lying to you or is getting payed secretly to tell you that.

@Raansu Actually I'd assume that out of say 10-11 out of the jurors or 90-95% before you chose a one particular verdict, you'd then naturally concur to get things settled. Think it's unrealistic a jury to get hung if it's some pretry obvious shit with clear evidence or some guy claiming insanity.
