@Force_of_Nature In SF, GG, KOF, and many more I should be plus after doing a super because I used up all my meter? The concept of dropping all your meter is high risk high reward for the damage. In DOA it isn't much of a high risk you drop your meter so what? you're basically playing DOA5 at that point.
By making super +4 on block you're encouraging people to yolo. good and bad players alike just do it, and you can't always be 100% sure if they'll do it or not. I wont say names but I've seen people on this site just throw that shit out then afterwords just play neutral, and get the meter back,
(why are supers plus on block) "Because they require a full gauge of meter to execute" You say that any where else people would not agree. If Tekken had meter with every character they'd still be punishable after doing a super regardless.
Sidesteping and holding it doesn't necessarily feel reliable. DoA changing the rules on how Supers work all of a sudden doesn't grant it to be accepted as a thing. It isn't something established in FG ruleset. It should be High-Risk, high-reward. It's all reward. It incites bad behavior and I get it's trying to be flashy
With great power comes great responsibility. I think TN forgot the responsibility. When people found out the super on block was +4, everyone was surprised thinking it was a bug. So there's that.
Honestly the issue with Break Blows more than anything is that they have a parry window before activation. That's also a big reason why people chuck them out. If you use up all your meter, you cannot Break Hold or SSA. In Tekken 7 there is no meter, you get Rage when you have around 25% health, and Rage Arts armour through pretty much everything including throws and lows (which beat out Break Blows for instance).
The parry aspect of BB's is more irritating than them being +4 on block (which under most circumstances the +4 isn't worth using up all your meter unless the match is almost done).
If they were punishable the parry frames wouldn't matter. In Tekken you gain armor. In KoF climax is invincible. SF you're invincible. But guess what? They all can be punished. DOA you have parry frames and you're plus? You only proving my point.
You're pointing out one thing I'm pointing out the other. Something has to give in terms of the super. rather they remove parry frames or make supers punishable. It's derp no matter how you view it, and meter doesn't justify it.
Nobody thinking about circumstance in a lot of cases dude hence the term yolo. Would legit watch DOA with you and we'd see people of all skill lvls do it. If it hits sweet! If he blocks it well I can back off or go for a mix up why?
In my experience more people use BB's for the parry aspect than using it to gain +4 on block (excluding BB cancels of course). You can make BB's punishable on block, though remember: BB's lose to: Lows, throws, SSA's, and counter holds. So with BB's being punishable, you'll both lose your full bar of meter while being punishable.
I'm not saying people use it for the plus. They're using it with the intent of hitting. But because it's plus its no big deal if the opponent blocks. Like I said bro its dumb both ways no matter what way you're looking at it.
No reason should I be telling other people out side of DOA oh sorry bro you can't punish super. They always ask why? Oh because you're using up all your meter. Nobody understands that logic because that's not the case for many fighters.
Maybe next SF or KoF game they'll make supers plus on block. They should also be instant kill because you're using all your meter. Nah fuck dat make it unblockable too. Because you're using all your meter. Lol.
