I feel every fighter should take the 2k route where if you have the virtual currency to buy a character, costume, dlc, story episode, etc, then that should be the way people get stuff. Tekken & DOA for me are prime examples of games where you have in-game currency and after a while, it's beyond useless cause after you unlock everything from the base game, there's nothing else to get.

SF would've been a great example of a currency that you can earn to buy everything but I feel that SF's stingy on their currency but that could be just me, but nonetheless, I stand by what I said.

I've made a mention of it before but Koei-Tecmo makes no money if people use in-game currency to purchase items. That's why they use Premium Tickets. They don't give a fuck about Player Points.

SFV Fight Money system is alright in theory but Capcom is so damn scummy and knows that people will get fed up and just buy stuff with real $$$.

I feel you on that and I think that's the only legitimate argument against in-game currency as unlike fighters, sports games are now based on the Build the best team & build the ultimate player, & building the best stats to dominate online & in tourneys and that easily gets to the "pay-to-win" environment and I'm 100% against it, which leads to a different rant.

But I just feel that with unlock system not being good (I still don't even have the club remix menu music), the in-game currency still being beyond worthless, & now this debacle, something has to be done. To revamp the system, make the currency a bit of a grind to get (rank up to win currency, beat story, go on streaks, etc) & set the option to buy in-game currency as an alternative.
