I’ve always wondered why certain fans’ opinions don’t count simply because they’re from the west, or from japan or anywhere else. Like I said before if you intend to make your game international, then you should listen to all your fans. That’s why games like Tekken are still thriving because Harada listens to feedback of the entire fanbase and not just the Japanese.
Stigmas aside, they should listen to all feedback. I don’t get why we “the west” have to resort to sharing their inexcusable crap to people with a large platform just for them to do shit. It’s a horrible way of communicating.
It's partially because that's how things are in Japan, they listen to and focus on their own country/region the most since that what they understand better and what they're accustomed to. Koei-Tecmo in particular doesn't really listen to the West because they receive most of their success from the Japanese audience, along with them not understanding the Western market.
Just like how Microsoft doesn't understand the Japanese market. With regards to "listening to all feedback", a reason why companies may not listen to all feedback is because, for instance, on Social Media when you have a shitton of people making entitled demands, it can become challenging to tell what to listen to or not.
Yeah, that is right. I completely forgot about that perspective, I just wish Mircrosoft and KT would do more to understand the Japanese and western communities respectively. They could both learn from this.
