Anytime I win a match thanks to fireball zoning, 9 times of 10 my opponent goes straight to character selectscreen and they put Geese on point, so is he the typical "I don't want you to throw fireballs" character or is this just a weird coincidence?
Maybe since he has air reppuken/double but this doesn't do too much to keep advantage. Like I can create a wall with Yuri's fireballs and jump CDs. There's a way to engage it. I wouldn't think of the game so much in this manner since in 14(Assuming you mean 14) Zoning in general has become stronger. You have to use smarter positioning to get a counter to fireballs + particular roll & jump CD usage
There are ways that EVERY single character can beat out projectiles, even if you do not consider their move pool. Geese's Double Repuuken is mainly useful as combo filler, even though the first hit does does eat other regular projectiles. You can hop over most regular projectiles in KOF. You can roll past them (just be on the look out for 2Bs/Throws).
You can neutral jump to avoid the chip. You can block them and then advance forward until you are in the position to jump/super jump towards the enemy to punish the projectile. Every character in the game can do this to a degree. There are also characters that have move sets that allow them to bypass projectiles to a degree (for example, taking advantage of Iori's Max Mode 2363214 P or specific Max Mode projectiles).
