Like it's ironic because a single player game (also, MP but mostly known for SP) shouldn't inherently care to keep it that way because they have no reason not to want more people playing and FGs should stay hard because they know trying to convince others to play is futile imo

Overcoming well designed a.i and overcoming human opponents are 2 completely things, there are many ways to make a.i. challenging but engaging, whereas if the difficulty is other humans, the most you can do is even the playing field, like most fighting game do these days, although that has produced mix results, FG's might be easier these days but player skill still trumps all

and while the souls series is popular today, there was a very long time where dark souls/demon's souls was niche and only pursued by enthusiasts, and most people were put off by it's difficulty. it wasn't until 2013/2014 where it crossed over and suddenly getting killed alot in dark souls was the cool thing to do

Yeah, of course eventually you can find out how something works against the ai and what the best build is etc. However, FGs, you can discover new tech 20 yrs later. It seems they want FGs to be like 1P games, where everything can be told to you but you just need to play it. Definitely might rant about this in my YouTube today. Like getting my thoughts out that way
