How do you deal with this? You can't really break down a 3D fighter without using some sort of terminology or jargon, without it devolving to: Press forward, forward + A to advance attack. Press down-forward + B to launch. I know people want things easy and learning jargon can feel frustrating, but games like SoulCalibur & Dead or Alive really can't be that dumb downed due to how much is going on in a match.

That "- 12" means that only i12 AA's can punish you for instance. That "-7" means that you can't be guaranteed throw punished in DOA for another instance. For reference, these notions would be explained if they weren't established.

Hm. Maybe that's the difference between a character guide and a tutorial. Then there is the middle ground, "[character] from beginner to advanced" videos. For example

I think your TopTierTips guides series is fine, at least for DOA6. You even have a link to it in the description of your character guides.
