RobTV kinda answered the question with: If the players are at a similar skill level, then the superior character will carry the W. Characters can also "carry" to wins, through abusing match-up knowledge, or being broken (See Leroy EVO Japan 2020). There's generally a reason why low tier characters don't win very often. Brian F knows what's up.

However, the point of course is that a character won't carry you to a major victory if you don't have the "skills to pay the bills".

"Carry yourself to the Lab" also cracked me up haha.

I watched this video recently to give an interesting perspective on skill & intelligence:

Lots of elements go into winning an FG match.

After some evaluating, I agree w/ Brian F's point more also. But at the end of the day, when you're considering competitive gameplay and you consider the types of games out now, it doesn't matter whether someone's being "carried" or not. The biggest problem I have w/ the "carried" or "braindead" mentality is that we take that and push it on the player, when that's not the player's fault.

In fact, we should be praising the player because w/o that player finding the crazy stuff and getting buzz on a character, then we won't see a character's potential. We need to take those complaints and frustrations to the devs and try to discuss w/ community managers or people who work on the game and hopefully have good devs and community managers who would care to communicate...
