Yeah it makes sense since DOA and VF are pretty much the same besides a couple general changes and such, Tekken is drastically different from the two which is why I think most DOA players struggle most to make the game work, I can count on one hand how many of my friends/former friends who were as good with Tekken as they were DOA and didn't drop it xD

I feel like the Tekken players that are struggling are so use to every move being a shotgun in Tekken. Even more so with the massive hit boxes in 7, and everyone seems to be a counter hit character at least in T7. It wasn't so bad in T6 or Tag2.

I don't think that's the case tbh, people struggle with Tekken because it's a CH/Launch game and there's no universal holds or counters like DOA so DOA players usually struggle with it, where with VF it's more bare bones but everyone has answers for situations and the combo system imo is more fine tuned and the game focuses more on a good neutral and defensive, that's why I think some people may not feel VF since it

paces different but I like it tbh, the combo system imo is really satisfying and just as easy as T7 and DOA when you take the time to see how it works, I had no idea the wall game and stuns were this nasty in VF and I love it xD

True but I fought a couple of my tekken friends and they're just hungry for a launcher hence why I said everything is a shotgun in Tekken. Granted I know this isn't the case for everyone, but when I say a couple Tekken friends I actually mean a lot. If you haven't seen my channel I play a lot of Tekken and I'm the only one out of all them that actually likes and plays DOA.

but again just my overall experience so far.

I feel, from my own experience playing both T7 and VF5, the biggest struggle more-so is the movement. Backdashing in VF feels super different compared to tekken. But the sidestep feels authentic also. Throw breaking will also take some getting used to. They're both hard in different ways. But after that, both seem fine so far (Aside from netcode stuff).

Throw breaking is actually pretty easy in Tekken. You can actually see the throws. VF you can't. You actually have to guess back, forward or neutral. there is no distinction in the throws in VF where you can tell what breaks what. People newer to Tekken don't seem to really look at the arms.

But I guess it would be hard since it only really gets easy and more noticeable the longer you play. imo

If I'm not mistaken, throw breaks in T7 is a 50/50 between command throw break (1+2 usually) or no command throw break (1 or 2, etc.). Throw breaking is a lot harder in VF5, including the "lazy throw break system".

I concur that Tekken players may struggle in VF because they're accustomed to just hitting launchers for about half the match.

Command throws aren't 50/50 for every character at least not in 7. When a vast majority of them are broken with (1+2). You legit see them grab with both hands. But there are command throws that are 50/50 like Julia's mad maxes she grabs with a 2, but you break it with a (1+2). Some of king throws look like 1+2 break but actually break with 2 or 1

These are known as (Throws with special breaks) Because the hands they are using are actually not the buttons you need to press it's a legit 50/50 because seeing them don't mean shit.
