Not just DOA5, I honestly think they could have at least just thrown him, Ein, and Gen Fu, into DOA6 as "skins" for their respective characters that play like them, just reuse old voice overs maybe (nothing stopped them from doing it for the VF charas in DOA5). Even just reuse the DOA5 models. Hell, I bet someone could easily mod them in. Maybe mod in the DOA4 Tengu into DOA5 as a Nyo costume.

I can see Leon being omitted from DOA6 despite being alive... but a playable dead character like Bankotsubo in DOA5 would have been weird at that point, especially after a retcon refreshed our memory that he's been canonically dead since DOA2. Nyotengu made sense as a successor, but I just wish they had done a lot more with her narratively when the writers had the chance.

As much as I like Ein it does irk me when they keep bringing him back even though he technically doesn't exist after DOA2 (and what crack was Hitomi smoking when she saw his ass in DOA4?)

as for Tengu, yeah it would of been weird pairing a legacy character with their successor in the same game, but hey they did it with Ein/Hitomi and Eliot/Gen fu, so fck it, i'd be down for double tengu action

DOA6 is suppose to be a statement of TN going forward?. No ein,leon and genfu cause it make no sense story wise. No boring VF character too.

I don't see how Ein can't still exist, actually... it's basically just Hayate if he decides to put on a Karate gi or casual clothes and use karate.

Or in some instances we can just ignore story It's just fan service, it'd provide no other service than that to bring them back as unlockable alts for existing characters.

Ein still makes sense as a roster inclusion though for a couple of reasons.
1. despite having the same fighting style Hitomi and Ein actually play quite differently.
2. Ein doesn't NEED to be Hayate with amnesia, Ein is just Hayate when he does Karate/wears street clothes it's not like Hayate forgot karate after he remembered he was a ninja (he still did his karate stuff in DOA3).

TN did the "bye-bye ein " in hitomi storyline and hayate stalking rig instead
