I heard the new Gundam is going the Yuri route, might have to check that out, last Gundam show I watched was Seed and Seed Destiny so im definitely overdue for sum giant robot action lol

Hmm, my only recent reference is Valkyrie Drive, and while there wasn't any short-haired tomboy in that, one girl in each pairing was always far less girly than the other, lol.

Yeah, , for most of the pairings in the Valkyrie Drive anime they were going for a tall girl + short girl motif so you had some couples where the tall girl was more tomboy-ish and the short girl was more girly or vice versa

that's just for the anime though, in the game adaptation they just copy pasted the same schoolgirl and called it a day

although in retrospect, Ranka was meant to be the tomboy of the group but aesthetically she looks just as feminine as everyone else, although she's paired up with her sister so I guess they're not technically a yuri couple, but is it still yuri if it's just sisterly love and not romantic love?

To be fair to Valkyrie Drive tho, I hadn't considered that they're all trapped on a man-less island together, so I guess it's the whole "take what you can get" prison effect, lol. On top of that, they have to pair up to get ahead or survive.

if i recall there was exactly one male on that island, it was the guy with the red hair and white suit, but I don't blame ya for not remembering because he just looks just as fem as everyone else on that island lol
