Man, been so long since I saw Morgan Webb...

Eh, I never liked X-play... or Electric Playground. Best video game show ever was Video & Arcade Top 10. Just had fun showing gamers competing by playing the latest games, not entertainment masquerading as reviews and trying too hard to be funny.

Tbf people are less mad about the guy disliking a jrpg and more the fact that the review had very blatant racist remarks about Japan. And then when pointed out the guy double even triple downed on his take. Also he seems to think he's being attacked by the Alt Right??? You know the Alt Right and their care for racism and progression.

Tbf, that didn't seem like the specific issue that the tweet he was pointing to had with his "review", lol.

But yeah, just what was in that clip did not age well. I would have raised an eyebrow even back then with that whole "saki - sagi" thing. At the very least it sets an out of touch tone of "idgaf about yer China cartoons".

The issue has never really been the omission of rollback netcode in itself in fighting games. It's the fact that fighting games released in 2018, 2019, 2020, hell, even 2021 (e.g. VF5US), had the audacity to release with subpar netcode when no serious gaming genre would be able to get away with that bullshit if they wanted to strive.

What happened after rollback netcode became the standard? Now people want crossplay. Most Japanese FG's are basically playing catch up on modern gaming trends.

I think even if they're great games, adding rollback won't save them. Most people just don't want to play old games at all, no matter how amazing and perfect they may be. It's gotta be new and have good netcode off the bat... good gameplay helps too, lol.
