Not as much of a turn-off as the fact I still can't get Remilia Scarlet or the Toxic Avenger as guest characters in this game, but I digress...

As long as it's not after I just ate, they don't bother me much.

I think it's a shame that MK trades on excessive gore, because there are some legitimately really good character designs in the series. The fatalities used to be kind of funny and tongue-in-cheek for the first few games (ex: multiple skeletons, humorous sounding death wails, etc.). Things got too gross and detailed after a certain point.

dawg that's just MK in general, Fatalities, and now Fatal Blows, are hype day 1, after that they're just a waste of time; it's like the sex appeal in DOA

that's kind of why I prefer Brutalities, they're quick and to the point, and because you need a specific setup to pull it off they aren't as frequent as Fatalities/Fatal blow, thus making their apperences much more valuable

EXCEPT for 3D era fatalities, don't know why but I never get tired of those, maybe cause they were really ez to fuck up if I recall lol

I feel like fatalities have gone down hill since the game went 3d. DA's fatalities were humorous, Deception was kinda boring nf Armageddon was cool concept but then in 9 they were boring. I feel like X had the best since they were really suiting but I don't like how they flow in 11 much.

@Awesmic I don't like camel but I can at least somewhat agree that brutalities are better than more recent MK fatalities since they're quicker and fit into the match

Fatalities has been a staple since the first Mk and makes it stand out from other fighting games. I mean same can be said with supers for SF, DOA FBs or PBs, RAs in Tekken, etc.

It honestly feels too gimmicky and overdone compared to MK1 - MK3. Killer Instinct's combat is pretty brutal, but never feels over done or too over the top. MK is already different from every FG on the market bar Injustice due to its visual style, audio-visual presentation, and by virtue of being an anti-anime westernized fighting game.
