Well the upcoming update might bring it way closer to NG2, hopefully, as they've taken feedback from fans. Maybe this was the only way if they really lost the original NG2 source code, but it does seem like they're at least trying to fix any and all issues that Sigma 2 had.

I just wish they had released worldwide physical copies for both PS5 and Xbox.

The gameplay is fine enough in my opinion, at the very least Black fixed all my issues with Sigma 2 specifically, I do think they should up the enemy count though they made the enemies easy to delimb like vanilla but you still only have 2-4 enemies attack you at once so it feels easier overall. pretty much the only time I'm struggling is when I'm fight a boss lol.

they just don't want to give Itagaki any shine so they keep pushing these Sigma remasters in our face rather than just giving us access to the originals

Then wouldn't they have not called it Black either? XD Gives the impression that they admit the "Itagaki's Cut" label is more prestigious.

But I agree it's annoying they had to wait for feedback to find out the game still wasn't NG2 enough, when they could have just literally looked at NG2 as reference.

hell i'd be down for an Itagaki cut at this point, or maybe just a difficulty option to play sigma 2 with the OG enemy spawns, health values, and de-limb rates, but that will never happen, at least not officially, might have to look to mods for help with that

I’m going to have to respectfully disagree as a UN player. The game is an absolute blast, and calling it Sigma again? I mean I think the graphical overhaul is enough to suggest that it’s different and has the potential for updates or to be called Black. People want more enemies. But meh.
