I agree to NRS quit making fighting games, I also say that NRS should no longer handle MK, and Ed Boon & Steve Beran should step down from the franchise.
I don't know what the issue is, but I'm tired of getting in invested in MK games just for support to get canned after 1-2 years. I really hated the alternate timeline crap as a lot of characters (Favorites) were cut or reimagined in ways no one cared or asked for. People just wanted to play some good traditional MK. At the same time, they NEED a new publisher, or to go independent/indie.
The issue imo is that MK is not an iterative franchise, every game tries to reinvent the wheel which leads to so many problems in the long term (fractured kommunity, abandonment of strong foundational gameplay ideas, increased pressure to add single game gimmicks),it makes being a long term fan more annoying than it needs to be :/
Like imagine if we lived in a world where NRS looked at a game like MK9 or MKX a and they said "okay we have a strong foundation with this game, let's build off that and make it better", instead we live in a world where NRS goes "okay, what can we add to this sequel that will make it completely different from every other game we've made"
