It's kind of bizarre to me that they would even go this route to begin with. Handheld PCs have been around for a long time and the idea that you can play all of your games from basically every library on a handheld isn't new either. Perhaps it's easier to do so on the Ally ?
Either way, curious to see the price of those. Luckily 16 and 24 GB models.
Branding or not that name is awful, rolls off the tounge like a mouthful of piss, sheit if I was Microsoft i'd be like "Asus, thanks for letting us slap our name on your hardware, but can we change the name lil bit? Xbox ROG Ally X sounds like a drunken mad lib ngl"
Worse than that man, it's officially "ROG Xbox Ally X" lol. But even during the presentation, they themselves only ever referred to it as "The Xbox Ally". And it's not just slapping their name on it, they did work with ASUS to make a new enhanced version. That said, it's pretty much public consensus now that gaming handhelds run better on Steam OS and not a Windows OS... :/
Not like Xbox were really good with naming conventions either lol. I mean anything that came after the 360? Literally calling the next gen console "The Xbox One"? ok Microsoft, you do you. Not like this will totally conflict with the original Xbox when I try to google something.
And then it went even further downhills afterwards.
