What's happening is scummy, but this shouldn't taint Nintendo's game developers. Nintendo is a publisher and a corpo, first and foremost. I guess it's true that eventually all corporations reveal their true unavoidable natures, and Nintendo's darkness has always been its aggressive legal team who are apparently still full of themselves after finally losing for once publicly... just recently this year.

They finally lost this year when they went up against, of all things, a Costa Rican supermarket because it was named Super Mario (since the 70s!). I think that takes the cake in terms of how scummy Nintendo's legal team & execs have become. But it shows that Nintendo can lose at least, that they've become so overconfident, trigger happy and tone deaf that they could even shoot their own foot. Hubris.

yeah this is business as usual for Nintendo, that's not surprising, as for Palword, I can't even get mad at them for that since it's blatantly a Pokémon rip off, so i wont give Nintendo crap for trying to protect it's IP, but this latest patent is just too much, it's so vauge in its wording that I have no doubt Nintendo will try and throw their weight around even for games that aren't even Pokemon adjacent
