TN put zero thought into her. Have you tried picking her up? She is painfully easy to use which is why I do not respect Momiji players, as much as I do not resprct Rig and Alpha players.
Rig's legit tho. He's annoying at a low level but requires some work to get down his more advanced stuff. Alpha and Momiji are kinda Lol... It's like it's impossible to not play them in an annoying way. TN rushed the shit out of Rachel and Momiji.
Out of curiosity, what is she doing that makes her annoying? She's easy to pick up, but winning with her requires a little something more than a masher can give.
2H+K crushes mids for no reason, she has surprising reach for the safety of those corresponding moves, so many of her moves track, 7K is some infuriating bullshit (as usual), etc.
I really hope that Marie Rose takes more than 20 minutes to learn. The current trend they've got going with Rachel/Momiji is a bit ridiculous.
As I stated awhile back, ease of use shouldn't be a problem. It's how useful the character is whilst in combination with their ease of use. Like Kasumi for instance. Easy as hell yet ridiculously affective. Rachel is easy to use, but hard to win with. So that's fine in my books.
I find her most annoying when people spam the shit out of her tenku follow ups the kick CB and the flaming punch, howver I'm getting quite accustomed to holding that shit. I went 2 full rounds one match against a random ranked match where I held EVERY. DAMN. TENKU. SPAM it felt good.
There are many "20minute to learn" characters in DOA. It's DOA, why are you guys acting so surprised lol. She's a mobile character, like she is in NG. I won't stop playing her lol.
DOA is meant to be a game that's easy to pick up for anyone to get into, having easy to play characters was part of the idea. Just hard to master since the game is a mental process
Rachel is easy to master. Those 20 minutes in the lab plus another 20 minutes in battle learning your spacing and yomi and boom, you're set. From there it's just learning your individual opponents. Not much further character mastery is going to be happening. And no, there are not many that are that easy. Arguably none.
