Well when Ayane has so many lag tactics, it's not surprisingly that most of them would try to get away with the same laggy bullshit. Most of the setups that Ayane players use online would get thwarted easily offline.

That's how most characters are in general. To an extent, you can't blame them. I mean like what Akira player doesn't use 2P->66P? Or what Leon won't use WRK 3P T after a CB?
But obviously using all the same set-ups will make them predictable in a game based on holds. There's a balance between maximizing efficiency, using BnBs, etc. and just being unoriginal.

Sometimes, people just use what gets them a win. If you're still losing to the same BS, then that's nobody's fault but your own. That's what the counter system is technically for, to counter the same BS set ups and combos. That's why mixing up is very important in DOA. Plus, Ayane has tons of possible mix ups.
