A challenge keeps the game interesting. It shows that there is something to overcome, which adds value to the game. Casuals don't understand this as they're mashing away.
When I play in lobby matches. I only look at the 5 bar rooms and sometimes the 4 bar rooms. The ranks and whatnot don't matter to me. When I'm online I'm just playing for the sake of playing to break up the monotony of training in the lab. My experience earlier today just reminded me why I usually avoid online. Earlier today, I was playing Awesmic in a lobby, just me and him. He won every match, though I won a few rounds. I kind of felt like I bored him because he kept winning and I also felt a bit discouraged due to losing and feeling like I wasn't a good of enough challenge for him. My B- rank makes me feel like a fraud!
