Was in a lobby someone picked dojo. I forgave it and played because well maybe they were training and mashed the button quick to select the stage since when you train the cursor stays on ur last used stage. Beat the dude and made it to him again. Dude picked dojo again lmao. I just taunted and spammed counters till he won. Lol
I only choose Dojo every now and then to mix it up a little. Although "personally" I find it odd that Dojo isn't included in tournaments. I'm surprised based on what guys say that people pick Dojo a lot too. Let Dojo stay, apart from a lot of shenanagins a stage like Dojo can test how well one fights without walls or whatnot. After all DOA isn't all about the walls although it is part of it.
It's also not all about holds but that is a part of it. Removing holds from the situation would cut out a huge chunk of what makes the game DOA. Similarly, removing the environment completely is axing a very integral part of the game.
We don't let players forbid their opponent from using holds in a match, so why would we allow them to do that with the environment? And that's why it's not allowed in tournaments and why online randoms picking it are annoying.
DarkShade are you fucking serious? No offense, but have you participated in an offline tournament before? The Dojo stage goes against everything DOA is about. Some characters, such as Bayman or Christie thrive on wall pressure. On the otherhand, as an Ayane player, it's whatever to me lol.
Force of Nature please don't get me wrong. It 'a a 50/50 kind of thing, although I apologize if you did not understand well. Brute has somewhat of a fair point but that does not make Dojo against everything DOA is. SR also makes a more fair point and it is redundant to be playing ONLY one stage. (Continued)
I guess the best way to put it is that it offers a different way to fight(in its respects), most may not like it but that usually comes from preference. True some characters can take advantage of the spacing like other can with the environment but that's why a skilled player should at least thrive to learn to fight without one or the other. I'm sorry if I got you upset.
But again, that would be to say "a skilled player should at least thrive (strive?) to learn to fight with or without holds."
They shouldn't have to. It's DOA. Holds are a part of the game they're mastering. So is the environment. There's no need to go cherry-picking out elements of the game just to see if you can do it.
Same applies to slow-escaping or w/e which if removed, wouldn't break the triangle system, but still affects core mechanics. Core mechanics skilled players work hard to master. Removing them at the whim of the opponent being a stage-whore is absurd.
And we're not mad at you. Just trying to tell you why we are mad at Dojo stage, lol
LOL It feels that way half the time Brute. Anyways it depends on the situation for the most part. I guess one example is XCalibur Blade against Lopedo at the first TFC. The point is that although you do not have to it is nice to practice it for those willing. As for not doing said "something" it can always cut both ways.
Dojo is a training stage for when you practice tech without having to worry about wall splats interfering. Thats it. If someone picks dojo on me im just gonna spam shit
Like Brute said Shade, no one's mad, we're just exasperated by all the online scrubs. It's the same kind of shit like people who choose non-Ring Out stages in SC. People who pick Dojo are negating a huge aspect of DOA because they can't be bothered to learn how to position themselves properly. If I see someone pick Dojo, I will turtle the fuck out of them with Ayane to show how retarded Dojo is.
