It makes the matches stupid and, it's not even fun. Literally over 90% of the lobbies are Tag and/or Largest. Online is already dumb as fuck with the current netcode. I dunno why people need to make it even stupider.
I don't see any issue with largest and I'll argue this till DOA dies. With the mechanics put into play in DOA5, to me largest is more logical than anything below normal.
Like I said, Largest is more logical than anything below normal. I didn't say it was "the best" or "best suited for competitive play" I just prefer it over Small & Smallest where 1 thing is capable of pretty much killing you instantly. And lets face it, in DOA landing a hit isn't exactly like climbing mount Everest. Obviously I prefer normal in a competitive setting.
For debates sake, small is also terrible. Though not much of a difference from normal- it still lowers the life setting to a point where 1 incorrect read will practically kill you. Throw stage environments into the mix + cliffhangers, powerlaunchers blows bursts etc. Anything below normal turns into a complete joke.
I play characters where you actually do have to work your ass off to open someone up. Thus, I want a good reward for doing so. Largest health trivializes all my hard work by giving me a pathetic damage reward for overcoming the daunting obstacle that is the neutral game.
1 correct advance counter with Hayabusa into his izuna ( regardless of the difficulty. ) does like over 50%... I don't see how that's fair rofl. It's the same with Lei-Fang. I did 1 accurate low adv counter on smallest... literally like 50-60% =\ that's just stupid in my eyes.
