Ryu is lacking mids this is a fact. They are high mids and slower then average. Sure he has moves that hit mid but it is not the same thing if most not viable. I wonder if we are even playing the same character sometimes lol. It used to be far worse sadly.

We must not be, lol. You say his mids are bad but would trade Christie's lows for Hayabusa's lows. That doesn't sound at all like hayabusa to me.
two CH lift stuns, both mid, both 15 frames. One works on NH, other crushes highs (not that it should ever be used as a poke, outside stun, though). Hayabusa has great mids. It's his lows and mixup that are lacking.

Lacking true mids and having bad hit boxes. Not to mention 15 frames is slow. Thank goodness they fixed the hit box on 3p. Pretty sure it is still not a true mid. You try to hit pai or another fast character with 3p or 6k and tell me how it goes. He suffers from Dragunov syndrome.

3P is not a true mid. 3P+K, 236P, 4K, 9K, 5KP, 3H+K, PP4PK/4PK ongyoin 8P & ongyoin 8K are his true mids.

And yeah, he is slow, but his mids are good beyond that. That's just more of an issue of "if your slow youre fucked" which is a common trend in 5U. not really taking away from ryu's mids.

and trust me, I know all too well how ridiculous the Pai v Ryu MU is, even if no one believes me. but yknow, if he had better lows, he'd be a lot better off here.

I see it more as an issue with his lows than his mids.

Honestly all he can do is Randomly crush or hold. That match up is a major reason i no longer play him. I will cave and admit ryu doesn't have that great of low either but as far as opening somebody up he is better off then christie imo. His mids are amazing if you can get them to hit but it is very hard. He can't shut down crushers with them at all.

It's all about controlling the tempo..did u know at start standing neutral kicks beats out all her options except her jab and lows and your 1p will beat out everything else...Also 4p+k will come in handy too at start

Just trust me on those things now with that said do ur best to stay on offense n watch the tides change
