Regarding the beginning, Manny's appearance at DiD was his first appearance in a year. Regarding Shade's "Hayate being him, not Hayate" a similar argument could be made for any top player. It can for Manny most certainly. Yes, his Hayabusa is very good. But he gets away with things no other Hayabusa can (WR4T at match start, 6KP not being held, etc.) simply because it's HIM.

Regarding the rest of what you said, to be perfectly honest, I didn't read a word of it. The last thing I'm interested in is hearing you talk about "what Hayate used to be" "what Hayate should be" and "what Hayate is" yet again for the 5 billionth time. No offense.

And that's a ridiculous argument btw. Another Hayabusa could easily land a 6KP. He's not above or below them, it's just how he runs it. Hell, SR, E-Mann, and Lopedo have held him out of it MULTIPLE times.

WR4T should not be hard to get off either especially against the for mentioned three and more players. The most probable situation is them holding in expectation of things like a 6P, Jab, or WR4K which we both know he fleshes out a lot simply because of the safety of getting hit out of it (aerial bt knockdown).

I went back and read it. I was right. You're basically saying yet again that Hayate was "cooler" in DOA4 and that should be the centerpiece of TN's approach for him in 5U. You're disappointed that he's not "easy mode" (comparing him to Kasumi and Christie for some reason) or "cool" feeling that the end is result is that he's a boring but "solid" character.

Which, is exactly what I figured you say before I read it.

I feel Hayate gets both overrated and underrated. I've heard people say the silliest things like he has great mixups and have heard people say things like he struggles to launch the opponent.

Very few players are capable of giving an accurate assessment of this character. Everything is always coming from either their own incompetence at dealing with him or them whining that he doesn't have as much as he used to.

it gets annoying seeing this from both sides. At the end of the day Hayate is a competitively viable character. Sure things could be done to make him better but the spot he is in right now isn't bad in the least.

also Takeda was basically saying that Shade isnt really a character specialist. Like how PL used to say " I AM HAYATE " and Ryujin would be like "I AM JANN LEE". i dont think master has said he is busa but lol hes played nothing but that character for 10 years. He is Busa.

It doesn't change the fact that Shade knows Hayate very well and can play him exceptionally well. Part of that comes from the fact that he is fundamentally a solid player and Hayate is a fundamental-heavy character. But he does know how to use Hayate's specific/exclusive strengths as well. Better than most, including many of the "specialists" who main him exclusively.

Well you read incorrectly. The wasn't a cry for him to be easy mode like Kasumi or Christie. It was a point being thrown out as to why there's becoming less and less specialist and mainers on Hayate.

Dumb down the "center piece" as you may but it is a viable point. Let me break it down again in short.

Obviously, Hayate was not overpowering in the installment of DOA5, and the only real change that came to his game was his teleport. So what called for the nerfs? Why was 8P+KP all of a sudden too strong? Why was 1K all of a sudden too strong? Why was 6K all of a sudden too strong? Why was 3PP, 33K all of a sudden a problem that no only deserved to damage nerfed (33K) but taken out all together.
