Well anyways I get what you mean. I think most American people only know top players in their own country, while there's tons of good players in Japan, France and even the Netherlands (I ain't even bragging).

About the *coughschristiehelena4lifecoughs* statement. I think it's mostly Christie in US. I can't think of a lot of good Helena's. Well, "high level" Helena's.

Xcalibur Bladez, CrazySteady, Requiem, Electrified Mann to name a few. Black Mamba was also amazing with her.

The japanese players have already caught up to the U.S. offline tournament scene within' a year and their scene grew when it hit arcades. Some players here in the US have already been playing that defensive and yomi style (I'm one of them) for awhile and they proceed the same style.

I will not be surprised if they are that much better than our current top players by next TFC because they aren't slacking in this game right now. Luckily I'm not a top level player just yet (just currently high level), this has just been a very good year for me to level up and from now till DOA5LR and it's proceedings, I'll be better than before.

I mostly love how the Japanese don't tier-whore like Western players and actually learn their Character vs. the Roster. It's very refreshing to watch.

Yes exactly, our tournaments are always consisting of Christie, Helena, Rachel and Genfu for the most part. While that's seen in jpn play, they are not the most dominating and that is because everyone is gaining experience against most characters, not a few. Most of US either don't posess the ability to adapt and read opponents, or don't want to at all.

People are saying Christie is the best character here, however I don't find her that much of a threatening character, even after playing Kwiggles. I feel this game is highly undeveloped by US players with all the division and nagging that goes on. Some of us ignore it and just play and level up. Meanwhile, japan is playing, going with the flow and leveling up

Christie is pretty damn strong, but is beatable. There's lots of complaining about GenFu & Alpha-152, for example (and believe me I hate these characters' guts), but I can guarantee that MU ignorance is a big part of why these characters give people problems due to how relatively few people play them. When you watch Japanese play, you get to see MU's being played out as opposed to seeing who can hit buttons faster.

Christie is strong but I don't believe her to be the best character. A top 5 or top 10, surely.

So your saying the japanese aren't bound to tiers and they just play the characters they're best with and don't just stick to high tier characters because they win tournaments? And both of you are right and I agree with ya'll Lol

The Japanese have Tiers but they play what characters they like as opposed to the character that wins them tournaments like most Christie & Helena players. GenFu is essentially Top Tier but ALPHA's one of the toughest characters to place in a tier due to how different she is from the rest of the cast. I personally feel that she's quite strong but not exactly Top Tier.
