Because follow ups will have different intended purposes. For example, Ayane's 6K string is versatile for stun threshold, and as a short range poke

Do your research. The high's probably a combo finisher, and the low's likely for string pressure. Also consider that in DOA, the existence of universal low throws means that free-canceling your string on block to low-throw the duck attempt is a valid option.

Another point of low/high combo enders is to see if the opponent is actually paying attention. I hit people with Christie's 1KPP to see if you actually know that you could just duck or low hold under the last hit.

Ty for that bit of information about christie FoN c: and also i understand what you guys are saying but a example is Nightmare 1A (Charge) Then press K to cancel into a sort of high throw thingy and i don't get why the person wouldn't just duck cause nightmares 1A is a low and the K cancel is a high lol

Its hard to explain but you can delay the 1A When you charge it but you can cancel the charge into the k, no you cant delay the k lol

So then the mix up is utilize the k cancel as a poke, assuming it comes out fast and isn't that negative if it's blocked.
