I need to use Gen fu more. I know his moves and how to use him, but he feels completely different from what I'm used to

I understand he's easier to play, but pretty much any character can be considered "OP" if used in a cheap manner. For example, I can't stand playing against certain Momiji and Ayane players because they abuse frame advantage moves to win

Pretty much what @My Babenapes said, that's one thing i love about DOA, none of the characters are weak if they're played correctly, its just that Gen can be fall under the label of "one button" character.

None of the characters are weak, but Gen Fu is still OP. CH 3PP , 33P , 33P , Dash , Close Hit 16P. Goodbye health. xD

@Darkslay Well yes but playing a character correctly and playing a character like a cheap ass are two very different things XD.

Remember, there is always a way to counter cheap tactics.

Yea but when you fight someone in ranked, you don't know what kind of tactics they are going to use. So by the 3rd round, you know how to beat them, but it's easier said than done :/

Nah, because a sidestep will only give him his throws on counter. And you do not want to be a victim of that twelve frame throw of his.

No i mean if they're spamming 3PP, 6PPP.

But you don't know if they're gonna keep doing that, that's the problem. You can't take a risk with that old fuck on the field.

An interesting thing is that 3PP is easy as hell to hold, even if it gets delayed. There's only one follow-up after 3P so you know what to look out for: 3P~free cancel or 3PP. GenFu is one of those characters where he only seems OP if you don't know how to fight him. On the otherhand he's derpy as hell on lower skill levels lol and a massive troll character.

I know how to fight him. It's just that the people who use Gen Fu are immensly strong themselves. It can really be pain in the ass to fight a highly skilled Gen Fu.

A lot of characters are a pain in the ass at higher levels, not just characters like GenFu.
