Online, the 6KKK string leaves her pseudo-positive. So unless you enjoy being killed by one redundant string over and over then yes, I recommend using holds.
It's not only that,90% of the holds knock the other character down,which sucks even more for Alpha,since she doesn't have too much wake-up options,but then again,don't get too relentless with the holds,cause she throws you,and kiss bye bye to 60% of your health
Worth guessing a hold? Nope. Worth doing a hold when you KNOW a move is coming? Yes. Alpha is fairly linear, so after you learn her strings and patters, and how your opponent uses her, you can go ahead and hold what they are looking to do pretty easily. Just be careful, Alpha players can mix-up too, contrary to popular belief.
True. If your opponent loves to go for Hi-Counter B.U.R.S.Ts as often as possible (I'm one of those people.. XD), it might not be worth it. Especially not if your health bar is under 80%. I hold pretty often against Alpha's after I understand their patterns, though. It can be dangerous, but it can also pay off if you get a counter and get her grounded.
