Lol, yeah but that's their problem not mine. If I want any information regarding Tekken or Tekken 7, I'll visit there. I went there when I was learning TTT2, but hated the shit out of that game lol.
Eh, that's possibility. I suspect that they may be butthurt somewhere due to bad online experiences or something or maybe DOA or someone touched them in an inappropriate place when they were a child. Who knows really?
Tbh, I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone looking for a serious fighting game. The mechanics seem like they fight eachother. It's good that it's 'balanced' in the sense that no matchup is unwinnable, but when you look at the tools top tier characters have vs bottom tier characters
I was just talking to a good friend about this today. It's trendy to come on this site and say the game sucks, community is toxic, or post a status about quitting and going to another game (Tekken, SF, SC, Rock Paper Scissors etc.) . Why? If you wanna quit, just do so. Don't try to get attention.
THANK YOU @Rich Nixon! No one gives a fuck if you're quitting DOA or hate the game. It's a waste of time and energy. If we were interested in something else we'd spend our online time there.
@Heikou You have got to be shitting me. DOA's balance is much better than, say, NRS or 2D fighters where 7-3 & 8-2 MU's exist. The only current fighting game with arguably better balance than DOA5LR is VF5FS.
@Heikou you honestly need some better examples for that man...
I can understand that DOA5 doesn't get patched that often... but the game's overall balance is easily better than most fighting games out now. I think you need to watch some high level play again
@Xhominid The Demon Within High level play isn't going to display how well balanced the game is so much as it is how good certain players are at making reads and having good reactions.
Compare Phase4's tools to Christie's. Phase4 is absolute garbage in comparison. The only way she can open people up is making them scared of throws, whereas Christie has
@Heikou Our point is that "lower tier" characters exist in every fighting game. The difference between Christie and Phase-4 is no different than the difference between Viola & Zwei in SCV. Don't get me started on shit like Sagat vs. Chun Li in Super Turbo or some of UNIEL's MU's.
A lot of solid mixup and block pressure. Christie also has a lot of good setups to maintain momentum after finding some chink or another in the opponent's defense. On top of that, she also has a defensive advantage in her special sidestep, and a move which pulls her hurtbox back, then gives a SDS on NH if the opponent whiffs an attack.
"It's more balanced because the system doesn't allow 8-2 matchups,"
And why is that a bad thing? Sounds like a 1/2 the problem is remedied in DOA, whereas in other fighting games they've got two faults (character imbalance and a core system that doesn't allow for "balance").
@Heikou I'm still not getting what you are saying and reading it over...you are making even less sense honestly...
The only thing that can make your point truth is how fast characters benefit more in DOA than in other games...but again, that's not really something proving your point since other games on similar mechanics
It's not, the bad thing is that unbreakable throws are 7F, if you SE, there's a good chance you'll be left crouching and get whacked for it, characters have a ridiculous number of strings, and WU kicks have a dumb amount of invuln frames.
VF manages to be pretty damn balanced without that.
