I imagine when Tekken 7 drops, lobbies will be reduced even more. Possibly will see only one or two lobbies open. What makes that worse is that they'll likely be tag lobbies lol
Honestly, I'm most curious about late March/Early April. The new character is supposed to be out then, which should mean increased online activity. But that's also around the time DOAX3 is coming out, which will inevitably pull a fair amount of online casuals away from DOA lobbies.
Do you believe that because DOAX3 will conceivably put DOA as a franchise on the radar to more people, or a different reason?
The former seems unlikely to me due to the region-restriction. In that, I mean that most of the people in the West importing the game are already fans of the franchise and conceivably already play DOA.
This is purely psuedo-relation theorizing on my part, but if you notice the trends of.... well.... weebs, they tend to get excited about a certain franchise and then spend their money and time on all things related to it.
For example, the SAO games. Absolutely awful games, but its SAO related so they dive straight into it and spend countless hours on it.
I believe firmly that people tend to get interested in a franchise for various reasons, and then gain an inclination to explore other facets of it afterwards.
DOA 5 has the sexy thing going on, but the fighting game aspect is still a barrier of entry to some people that pushes them away. The barrier seems like less of a problem if you're already heavily drawn into the franchise by DOAX.
Trololol.
