A game like this is of course going to be slammed based on the content it has. With that said, these people don't seem to realize that these games are meant for a specific market and tend to judge with a bias. The first two DOAX games weren't well received either.
If you're making a game that's purely fanservice with only the most pitiful excuses for "gameplay" littered throughout, the only way you could possibly achieve a decent critical response is if you actually service the fans completely and thoroughly.

No. DOA5 struck a sweet spot when Team Ninja seemed to have some degree of autonomy to pursue their own interests. Remember the pre-Alpha build and how comparatively tame sexualization was in early vanilla days? And how their first costume DLC was free and contained legitimate, distinct costume additions? That was a focus on integrity over profit.
