No offense, but I rather have Mai Shiranui than some shitty-ass Senran Kagura character. Least the character "came from a fighting game." to be painfully blunt here. She is possibly miles better than Naotora as well.
:'-( ...Jk XD, not much people seem to like SK or Naotora. But yeah Greg, she may be basic but she's pretty popular too, and is the first LR guest character to actually hail from a fighting game.
KasumiLover69, VF is a fighting game too what the? lol.
But yeah, I'm just not a big fan of characters that are not from fighting games joining a roster. 2D fighters and 3D fighters I can understand even if it's a character I don't like. Mai for example is meh...but I can't exactly hate on the character because she makes sense for legitimately two reasons.
Oh I meant LR(last round) guest characters, the VFs have been in since Vanilla and Ultimate. And I don't see them adding the SK girls realistically, most of the popular main girls are underage and use weaponry. As much as I'd like to see Ryona in DOA, that likely won't happen unless SK makes a crossover game with DOA themselves.
It just gets old there are so many KOF characters and they pick the obvious big breasted Japanese female. Its not like her moveset is anything special she throws a paper fan at her opponent's face half the time.
@DestructionBomb I guess. I mean, between corn-flaked crap or soupy, acidic diarrhea then I'd take the former, but that hardly makes either defensible.
But she's new at least, and plus she was chosen for being the most iconic. I'm still undecided if i should be hype again though, I've lost quite a bit of interest from my attention obsessed friend, so I'll have to see. Either way, I still have Naotora :-D
They probably chose Mai because she was a big inspiration for DOA, I mean Kasumi's design is so heavily based on Mai to the point she was a mai clone aesthetically in prototypes of DOA1. Plus jiggle physics
Still think they should of picked a different character but it's whatever. Though if there's one thing that would of been easier for all of us, is that they should of made Naotora the last character. I truly believed she was the last but TN was like fuck it, let's put out another.
And there's more coming too ~_~ From what I read in that Tom Lee interview, they seem like they're definitely gonna milk this crossover character till the cows come home. ...I'm OK with it as long as I like the character, but I still would rather have someone original who's guaranteed for DOA6.
@KasumiLover69 I doubt they will make a new character for DOA5, Mila and Rig are already newcomers.
And with guest characters, TN is trying to get gamers from other series to come over to DOA.
He was likely just joking, Hayashi and him get along fine, he just probably said that because Itagaki running the game at the time, and they were both rivals
It isn't confirmed that there are more coming for "this" particular game. What Tom was saying is that crossover guest character trends will never die because other companies are doing the same just to stay relevant from a business standpoint. Because of that, it loops itself because they all want to stay relevant so the trend will last until the companies stop making games.
