Harada for whatever reason has added supers into tekken and now whenever you get an opponent into rage(low health) they can just hit one button and a super move immediately comes and if you were pressing anything you just lost half your life.
And yeah, it's very annoying but just know even if you hit them your damage still applies, so if it would have KO'd then it will KO, as long as it hits.
The move itself isn't really bad, the trick is to just not hit buttons, if you do you brought it on yourself. They can also be avoided by side steps and stuff and they're pretty punishable.
^ The problem with that though, is that with them at such low health, you're essentially creating a momentum killer, as why should I, the attacker/person with higher health, hold back and play passively because of an armored super? That's the problem with it, however we just have to unfortunately deal with it cause it's not leaving.
When players are low on health they'll usually panic and do it, I did myself when I first got the game but stopped when I saw how you're still not completely safe. If your opponent is in the rage mode just wait and bait it out, although I'm not sure there's much you can do if they have the life lead
@Hazard yeah I see that point but you don't have to hold back, you can block them instantly as long as you're not doing anything, what's stopping you from dashing in and baiting a panic rage art and blocking and then go ham on dat ass once they're helpless? XD You can also just do an attack beforehand that'll kill so you can shut them down
its not that i don't know how to beat its that ive been playing DOA5 for 5+ years and keep forgetting it exsist so i move in for the kill and die. and the thing is most mechanics i see and im interested and i say "i want to get better at this" i feel none of that about rage it just gets in the way of a perfectly fine 3D fighter.
Yeah i saw that, I kinda want it whenever they put out super street fighter 5. And I kinda like the rage mechanic, the idea of attacks dealing more damage when you're close to losing is actually realistic imo. Rage arts I'm neutral towards and rage drives I feel are useless but then again I use lili and Claudio.
its really not. if you've ever seen the end of a MMA fight the two fighters can barely fight anymore and even when they're too tired to block the other guy is too tired to throw a strong enough hit. the likelihood of knockout decreases as a fight goes on.
I kinda think otherwise, in a fight especially since most end as quick as a tekken match when you're getting hurt and when you're really one bad disadvantage anger and desperation fan actually make you fight much harder and more aggressively than you would normally because of adrenaline
They're really not that difficult to deal with; players have options. If you have more health than your opponent and rage art is there last option you can space them and force them into making a mistake, utilize attacks with quick startup/short recovery frames to bait them out since RA's are super unsafe
know which characters have high RA's so you can crush, or if there health is low enough you could do an attack that will stuff the RA and kill. Don't really want to hear how it's a momentum killer when throw punishing leads to constant knockdowns and kills players momentum. It's Tekken's comeback mechanic, most fighters have them now. Want a honest fighter? There's VF.
I can count the amount of times I've been hit by a random RA on one hand. I also don't think I've ever lost a round where I had a commanding life lead and got hit by a random RA and lost. They're pretty straightforward to deal with if you've played any fighting game from SF4 onwards. I just simply bait and launch-punish. Getting hit by random RA's is usually from not respecting your opponent's ability to use it.
Also, yes VF is the most honest fighting game easily (it's not quite 100% balanced but probably comes the closest), but that's also why it's one of the most boring fighting games and least popular.
It's not about respect I keep forgetting this crap exsists because when I'm playing a 3D fighter it's the last thing I would think of having to deal with.
That's why I loved 3D fighting games, because they were more honest and without super and armor moves and invincible stuff. Now everyone wants a piece of it to be more flashy etc.. I would pay and pledge so much money just to get VF5 on Ps4 or PC and hopefully VF6 and DoA6
No matter what the data tells you on paper, it always takes one frame for anything to happen.
