Well, in Street Fighter 5 you are able to play DLC characters in story-mode, even if you didn't buy them. Could also be the case in DOA6.

Yeah. It should be a challenge. Maybe like the difficulty of Tengu on hard. Alpha in DOA4 was just silly, OMEGA/Genra in DoA3 was just Ninja Gaiden style. A bit too hard to hit.

My guess is, that they could lock "story relevant" characters behind a paywall (DLC), to make people "move" to buy it. To sell a Season Pass or something like this successfully, it needs a fan-favorite or some character(s), that have a high status. And cancel that story thing. Some characters...

Well my guess is, that also a strong character will be a DLC character, such as Ayane, Kokoro, Christie, Marie Rose or Tina. I can see, why some of you assume, that Rachel, Momiji or even Gen Fu could be DLC characters (story is over or don't know how to implement, cause from a different game)...
